Alfred's career spans entrepreneurship, financial markets, software, and the federal government. He began his career in the U.S. Treasury, and served as Special Assistant to the White House Chief of Staff. Alfred worked on financial crisis related issues at BlackRock before being pulled into entrepreneurship, co-founding and successfully exiting his first technology company, Mobilize. Prior to founding Crux, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Alfred is also the host of Critical Capital, an interview-driven show examining how the intersecting forces of finance, policy, and technology shape the future of energy.  He holds an MBA and BA from Stanford University, where he played Defensive End on the Varsity football team. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Emily, and their three sons.
